The International Symposium on Experimental Robotics is a forum dedicated to experimental research in robotics. ISER is a single-track symposium focusing on presentations of the latest work in experimental robotics. The symposium encourages submission of papers with validation of robotics theory and principles by physical experiments or new experimental paradigms and designs that facilitate theoretical advances.

Extended abstracts should be submitted by May 1, 2018 Anytime on Earth (AoE). Accept/Reject decisions will be made by June 22, 2018. Authors of accepted papers are invited to submit a full paper by August 20, 2018.

(1) Submission of Six-page Extended Abstract for Review

We invite submissions of six-page extended abstract (PDF format)following the outline below.
Please use the format of the Springer Proceedings in Advanced Robotics (SPAR). Templates for MS Word and LaTeX can be found on this website.

  • Motivation, Problem Statement, Related Work (one page)

  • Technical Approach (one page)

  • Results (one page)

  • Experiments completed or scheduled (one page)

  • Main Experimental Insights (one page)

  • References (one page)

 

  • Optional: Video attachment (submission deadline: May 8, 2018)

    • Format: mpeg, mp4, mpg

    • Max. file size: 40 MB

Extended abstracts are due on May 1, 2018 via the EasyChair paper submission system. Uploading optional videos and updating the extended abstract are allowed until May 8, 2018.

(2) Submission of Final Conference Papers

The conference version of the paper is due by August 20, 2018. You will need to:

  1. register to the conference,

  2. submit a pdf version of your paper,

  3. submit your source files in LaTeX or Word format, and

  4. submit your paper Springer’s transfer of copyright form.

The maximum allowable length is ten pages. Two extra pages are allowed with a fee of $150/page. The extra page fees are to be paid via the registration webpage. Once you have finished entering your personal information, you can look at a page where you can edit your personal info, and check your application status. From there click on "New/additional application" under "Registration" and here you can pay for the extra page fee.
